       Travel and Lodging

The 69th Physical Electronics Conference, including the prestigious Nottingham Prize Competition for best presentation based on doctoral research, will be held at the Rutgers University. This topical conference provides an annual forum for the dissemination and discussion of new research results in the physics and chemistry of surfaces and interfaces.

       Airports


The Rutgers University College Avenue Campus is located in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the Hub City at the center of the Garden State.
New Brunswick is most convineintly served by
Newark Liberty International Airport. The airport monorail can take you directly to the Northeast Corridor line, serviced by AMTRAK and New Jersey Transit. Schedules and fare information to the New Brunswick Train Station are available at those links. Alternative ground transportion and on-stie car rental information is available at the airport website.
Alternative airports are:
JFK International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Philadelphia International Airport.

       Train


The New Brunswick Train Station, serving AMTRAK and New Jersey Transit, is conveniently located within walking distance of the Conference venue and on-campus housing for the PEC at Rutgers University. Please see local map for details.

       Driving Directions


Follow this link for driving directions to Van Dyck Hall, the conference venue and Stonier Hall, the on-campus lodging site, for the Physical Electronics Conference at the Rutgers College Avenue Campus.

       Parking


Parking permits are included in the conference registration fee. Commuters will receive permits to park at lots #8 and #11. Resident conference attendees will receive permits enabling them to park at the College Avenue Parking Deck.

       Lodging - On Campus


Stonier Hall will be used to provide dormitory style housing for the participants. Each room has a private bath. Breakfast at the Faculty Dining Hall of Brower Commons is provided with your room charge if you are staying in Stonier Hall; or it can be purchased at the cafeteria.

Single and double occupancy options are available.

  • Stonier Hall Housing Package for double occupancy is $135 per person.
  • Stonier Hall Housing Package for single occupancy is $190 per person.

This is for 4 days and 3 nights and includes breakfast on June 16 - 19. Please indicate your sex and if you have a roommate preference if you are registering for double occupancy. For your convenience, you may check-in at Stonier Hall on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 3 PM to 9 PM when you check in for the conference.

Check-out is Friday, June 19, 2009 from 12 noon to 2:00 pm at Stonier Hall

       Lodging - Off Campus


For those who want hotel-style accommodations, The Heldrich Hotel and The Hyatt Hotel are located within walking distance of Van Dyck Hall, the conference venue.
